Top 4 family days out in the Vendée

Top 4 family days out in the Vendée

Regarded as one of France’s favourite beach holiday destinations, it’s not hard to see why the Vendée has acquired this title. The region boasts no less than 250 kilometres of coastline of which 150 are just pure sand. The Vendée also offers countless activities and attractions to keep the whole family entertained for a week, or two, or three…

Here’s a selection of our four favourite family days out, all located close to our Camping La Yole and Yelloh! Village Le Littoral Vendée sites:

#1. Puy du Fou

Puy du Fou is an outstanding history-themed park that will take you on an epic journey through time. The park attracts more than 2 million visitors each year and has been voted best in the world (Thea Classic Award for the best park in the world in 2012 and Applause Award for the best park in the world in 2014).

Puy du Fou is divided in 5 different areas and brings the rich history of the Vendée back to life: it features a multitude of spectacular shows such as chariot races in a Roman amphitheatre, Vikings and gladiators, soldiers storming down a castle…

#2. Planète Sauvage

Located just half-hour away from Camping La Yole, Planète Sauvage is a safari park home to nearly 2,000 animals from the 5 continents, spread out across 100 hectares of parkland.

Kids will love trying to spot over 150 different animal species!

You can explore the park in your own car, driving along the 10km safari trail and get up close to some of the most majestic wild animals such as giraffes, elephants, lions, cheethas, tigers, rhinos and many more.
